The BeepBoard started out as a prank program for use at the Shropshire Star's internet desk. I hit upon the idea of creating a program to take over the internal PC speaker of a computer.
Using the program is simple. All you have to do is start it up. You will be presented with a window that looks a bit like a music keyboard, with all of the keys labelled with keys corresponding to your computer keyboard. To play a note, hit that key on your computer keyboard.
When you are not connected to a BeepBoard server, the notes will play on your own computer's PC speaker. When you are connected to another computer, the notes will instead be played on that computer's speaker (yours will be silent). You can play sequences of notes too, although the use of trial and error will probably be required here.
Full instructions in the readme file.
It requires the Visual Basic 6 runtimes. If you do not already have them, you can download them from the Microsoft website (about 1Mb)
