Shrewsbury is my home town, and it is great. Well, actually, its not that great if you're into
clubbing and drinking binges and whatnot. But fortunately, I'm not. So it suits me down to the ground.
It is the county town of Shropshire, in the West Midlands region of the United Kingdom. Charles Darwin*,
the creator of the theory of evolution, was born here in 1809 and "discovered" evolution between 1831 and 1836, whilst
he was serving as a naturalist aboard the HMS Beagle.
The first iron-framed building in the world was constructed in Shrewsbury in or around the year 1810, by architect Charles Bage. The
flaxmill in Ditherington still stands today, although it is in dire need of restoration.

There are plenty of shuts and passages to keep most enthusiasts busy, and for those of us who enjoy more
modern past times, there are plenty of nightclubs and pubs. We have a multiplex cinema*.
