SL-9

This gun is based on the SL-8 sporting rifle produced by Heckler & Koch for the American market. It also has strong ties with the SL-9SD sniper rifle from the same company.

This particular airsoft SL-9 started life as a Tokyo Marui G36C. After seeing the SL-9 on the website of a popular airsoft retailer I almost immediately fell in love with it's sleek lines. I decided that I had to have one, so I set about acquiring another G36C and the conversion kit required to carry out the job.

The kit is produced by STAR Airsoft and is as pricey as the G36C itself! After four hours of hard work, the conversion was complete. It was surprisingly easy given that I'd never taken apart an AEG before. I could probably have completed the conversion quicker but I was writing down the steps taken and taking photographs so that I could produce this conversion guide for any future SL-9 lovers!
