MP7A1

This Tokyo Marui replica of the Heckler & Koch MP7A1 was released in February 2006. The real-steel version of the gun went into production in 2001.

Classified as a personal defence weapon (PDW), the MP7 fires a custom 4.6 x 30mm round designed to penetrate body armour. The increasing availability of high quality body armour made the development of the MP7 essential. Guns such as the MP5 and USP which fire normal pistol ammunition (9mm Parabellum) were becoming grossly ineffective at dealing with threats wearing body armour.

The MP7 (and it's sister pistol, the UCP - currently in development) uses this ammunition that is made almost entirely of hardened steel. It's action is essentially the same as that found in the G36 series of assault rifles, also produced by Heckler & Koch.

Featuring a retractable rear stock and a folding foregrip, the MP7 is ideal for use as a personal defence weapon and, in the context of airsoft, ideal for use as a backup weapon for when your primary weapon fails or runs out of ammunition.
