This is the big daddy. A replica of an M41-A Pulse Rifle from the film Aliens.
Converted from an M1A1 Thompson sub-machine gun, this was purchased second hand from a forum member over at Arnie's Airsoft. It was a lot of money, but I figured that being a fan of the Alien Legacy this would be one of the few chances I would get to own a replica like this.
It features a working ammo counter on the right-hand side of the magazine well. This counter jumps up to 95 when a magazine is inserted (a nice touch - the "real" M41-A can actually hold 99 rounds per magazine, but most Colonial Marines only load 95 as this helps to prevent jams) and counts down every time a shot is fired.
The airsoft replica takes 190 round M1A1 Thompson magazines, and has a base plate that clips on to the bottom of the gun to hide the magazine. It also has a dummy M40 underslung grenade launcher built into it, with what looks like a replica shotgun shell installed.
The stock is also retractable, and has three positions.
Man, I love this gun.
